Ultra Gauge Problems

Hello all, I am new here to FF. I recently purchases a 2004 Focus SE sedan with 2.0l Zetec. I have already completed a timing belt, thermostat housing, trans service ect. My problem is that I purchased an Ultra Gauge and it is having problems searching my computer. It will forever search for the protocol and never find anything. I have attached a code reader to the obd2 port and it reads my computer just fine. I guess my question is if anybody has ran into this and is there anything I can test on my obd 2 port? I have tried the Ultra Gauge on two other vehicles a 2007 Malibu and 2002 F150 and they work great. It seems like the gauge is having trouble reading any computer data only from my car? Any suggestions would be great! My OBD2 plug has wires coming out of pinouts 2,4,5,7,10,13, and 16. All of which look to be in good condition. Could I have a bad ground? If so how should I test for that. I am worried about putting my meter in the wrong pinout and messing something up. Thanks for your time.

Keep trying. I had to unplug mine and for whatever reason, it took 3-4 times before it found the info again. Like you, it kept searching. I think I had to unplug it a few times and turn the key on and off. If I remember corectly, my son had to do this for his 1999 Svt Cobra.

Does anybody know how to test the voltage coming from pinouts 2 and 10 obd 2 plug? Also what kind of voltage should it read? I am beginning to think my voltage may be to low for the Ultraguage to read. Thanks

Try their forum. The company is pretty good with answers. They also have a "contact us" link. You'll need your order number if you still have it.

Thank you for your suggestion. I went onto Ultra Gauges site and found nothing that would help me. I have a 5-response help ticket pending with them and have solved nothing. This is a tough problem!
