Exclamation Low battery on screen?

Car flashed up low battery on my screen. Car has 5k on it and I leave nothing on ever. Lights are not on auto (the knob) so I'm a boggled. It is under warranty but I'm not too happy about taking my new car in for some electrical crap. That is why I got away from VW's...... Starts right up when jumped. Yes this is its first offense but from what I have read so far, seems like this is a bad thing. Any help would be welcomed. Any? I'm getting views.....

**UPDATE**
Car is being towed to dealership first thing in the morning. I'll keep you guys posted.

obviously it could be a battery or alternator, if the alternator got wet somehow, that would be a problem. hopefully its not a bad wire somewhere, where they have to search for it thats draining it. hopefully its an easy fix =D

ford is known for electrical problems.

Thats a new one, never heard that before. VW yes, Ford no.

The alternator getting wet also make no sense to me. I had the unfortunate even of driving through some deeper water on a road, enough that it came up over the hood and I later found water in the battery box. Never had an issue with the alternator. The clutch did have slip slightly and then was fine.

For the OP, have you started the car a few time and only run it for a few minutes each time? I had a no start contdition on my car, it would just crank, but it was very slow. I started the car a few times over the weekend but only let it run for a few minutes, the battery was just low, had to jump the car to get it started. Hasn't been an issue since, I just make sure that its run for more then 5 minutes if I start the car.

Also it could be a bad battery, that does happen. Parents had the battery go bad in there Escape when it was only a few months old.

Ford has gone to the decoupler pulley on the alternator and this system has been a problem in the past. keep us updated on what the car needs.

Moved this to the proper section since it doesn't have anything to do with performance or exhaust upgrades.
