Exhaust system

Are there any exhaust systems out there for the svt that doesn't sounds like pure rice? Something that sounds stock but actually does something for performance?

Doesn't sound like rice? Borla and Magnaflow, IMO. Borla is only a bit louder than stock, and makes it deeper and throatier, but still recognizable as an SVT.

Adds power? Virtually no aftermarket exhaust adds noticeable power over the stock exhaust. SVT did a good job extracting all they could out of the Zetec engine. Exhaust is mainly a noise upgrade.

For reference, here's mine with a Jay Racing HFC and the full Borla system with the resonator and muffler:

Edit: Photobucket appears to be down, the video should link to it...

The previous owner had my svtf straight piped from the header to a cheap eBay tip... You talk about ricey sounding hahah it was terrible. I ended up putting on a vibrant performance ultra quiet resonator, and this dc sports muffler tip. I wish I had put a different muffler tip though, this guy at a shop convinced me it was the best before I did my own research. Sounds pretty good, just looks kinda like a fart cannon, even though it doesnt sound like one.

It's still a little raspy, but that ultra quiet resonator worked wonders. Keeps a performance sound, while lowering the decibels significantly. I'm thinking about putting another resonator on just to quiet it down some more. That or put a cat on it because it's got no cat hahah

I would say go with a borla muffler and a vibrant performance resonator, that should sound wonderful.

ya basically no boltons for an SVT will do a lot. the only way to really get more power from one of these motors is to go FI. The good thing is that Ford basically made it FI ready with all forged internals. As to the exhaust. go borla! i have had mine for almost 4 years and i love the sound of it. Deep and throaty. i love the backfires and the gurgling. Good luck man.

I have a borla system on mine and it sounds more aggressive than the stock exhaust. You get a little rumble when you let it rev down when coming to a stop. It deff turns heads when you drive. Not sure if its because its loud, or people are like "What in the world is up with that focus"

Got a video of that exhaust? Never heard of it. I know Apexi makes exhausts for other cars, but I didn't know they made exhausts for our cars. And HIIIIIIIII Miley<3

SVT OEM=2.25"

Mandrel Exhaust w/Borla=2.5" coupled with a tune and a 2.5" off road pipe= a couple of HP IMO, there is more than one to skin a cat.

Hi lol.
The Apexi exhaust was on my cousins car. He has since traded in his car and I believe he still has the full Apexi World Sport exhaust in his garage. I don't have a video but I'll search YouTube and hopefully post a link.
