2014 Ford Focus SE Short Shift Plate

Hello guys. I have had my 2014 Focus SE for a few months now and I find the length of the throws to be a bit long. I found 2 shift plates / arms and was wondering if anyone had any expierience with them and how well they work. Also both products say they are for the ST model, will they work on my SE transmission?

This is the more expensive one. Does more money mean better?

This one is from Cobb Tuning and has 2 positions and is about 140 dollars cheaper

Any help would be appreciated. Thx!

I ordered the Cobb one to see if it was the same, and its not. So the only other option is the Steeda kit, unless i missed another company that makes one.

No they won't work as the MMT6 is not the same transmission as used in the regular MK3 Focus, and the brackets are not compatible. Your options for a short throw shifter are Steeda + their bracket, or Ford racing performance parts.

I agree, the throw is to long and I to want to put in a short shifter in my 2013 se. Did you find one that works? Has anyone done this yet? And does the shifting feel better and tighter?

I bought the steeda bracket a year or so ago and it was nice but needed some modification to fit properly and it didn't feel quite right. So about 2 months ago i bought the the steeda shifter itself and it made a world of difference. the throw is much smoother and shorter.

So it is worth getting? Does it improve the shifting greatly and is it more fun to drive? About how much did the both run you and if you did it yourself was it easy to install?

Worth getting!

It reduces throws quite a bit. After awhile you get used to it though and then you want shorter. It adds to the fun of rowing your gears.

Give yourself a couple hours for install. It's not difficult, it's just tedious and can get frustrating. Don't lose your springs in the console and use lots of lube!

Thanks, I might just have to get this. Just hope I don't jack up my car installing it. I'm new to these kinds of projects
