Audio Upgrade

I've had my Focus for quite some time and I've not wanted to mess with it until recently, I need to get my stereo back in the car.

I've got four Infinity Kappa 682.7cf 6x8's available to me, but I plan on putting only a pair in the focus and installing a set of 6 1/2's to round off the sound. My thoughts were to put the 6x8's in the doors and the 6.5's in the back - good idea?

I had all four of those 6x8's in my Contour SVT with a 400x4 amp powering them and loved the clarity, the crisp sound and the endless volume. I didn't get much for bass out of those speakers so I've got a pair or old school Alpine Type R-12's for the trunk.


I have a damn near zero budget, so I'll pull a set of the 6x8's out of the Contour and put those in the front doors of my Focus. Next step is going to be adding some 6.5" rears, probably some Pioneer - TS-G1644R's as they are cheap ($30). I've got zero interest in messing with the head unit in the car, my original plan and ultimate goal is going to be running a digital audio processor with the speakers and subs all amp'd, but that has to wait.


I've got three amps and nearly enough wiring to get them installed, if I wanted to amp the door speakers could I cut my speaker leads, input them into a LOC (Scosche SLC4), run the RCA's to my amps and the run the amp outputs back up to where I cut and installed the LOC and effectively have the amp driving my door speakers?

When I did my Contour I got a "harness" that went into the factory wiring and had colored and labeled wires that would run to my amp. Where can I get another one of those? I would like to use the color coded and labeled wiring to keep the install clean.

The Rockford Fosgate amps I've got have a pass-thru feature on the RCA inputs - so I could then run a bridge from the 4 channel amp to one or two amps driving my subwoofers.


This going to work or should I just install the door speakers and just get a simple two channel LOC off a rear speaker so I can just run the subs...
