projector lights and hid conv questions....

hey all

so i know there probably is a thread about this already, but it wasn't very clear on the answers. i want to to projector headlights on my 01 zx3. stock headlights use one bulb for high and low beam. these headlights http://www.dashzracing.com/00-04-for...-fr5019cf.html use 2 separate bulbs. when i install my new headlights, i know i will need that second bulb (obviously) but will i need to wire it a specific way? and then throw on hid's! 8k or 10k, but do i do them on the high beams or the low beams? any insight would be awesome!

thanks,

blkdiamond

Not sure on the first part but for the HID's, you would do the low beams. You would want the lights you use most often to have the better light out put. You should find out if anyone has used HID's in those housings, not sure how good of a projector they come with. I'm not a fan of the "painted carbon fiber head lights," not sure how good that will look. You may want to look into a retro fit, you will get a much higher quality projector out of it and have better light throw, cutoff and less scatter.

Although, you could also do the highbeams (in addition to the lows) but how often do you even use high beams? Not to mention, you many not use your highs after getting HIDs for the lows.

Don't go higher than 8k which has alot blue in it. Going above 8k definitely loses visible light output and looks really blue.
