New Goodies: Roof Rack, Rally Armor Mud Flaps, and Debadge

So havnt been on in awhile and I just got the Yakima Q Tower roof rack and figured I would update you all on my other mods as well.

Besides the roof rack Installed Rally Armor universal mudflaps and I also debadged the booty. I love the mudflaps, they add a big aggressive look.

So first we have the mudflaps I painted the logo baby blue for a unique touch

also great when your girlfriend helps out with the fine lines ; )

Then I sealed the paint on with a clear coat

The here is the install. I needed to drill holes in the flaps that lined up with the body pins since Rallyarmor does not have any for a Ford Focus haha go figure. I went to my local Ace HArdware and go longer body pins to hold the body flaps on.

front

rear

and now the debadge and roof rack

Has alot of sunroof clearance. The sunroof barley comes up actually

I am 6'3 and have a large 29er Mt Bike and it still fits with the hatch fully up! My 29er large frame it pretty much the biggest bike you can get so im sure all bikes fit on the focus with the hatch up. I was a little worried with my big bike

Hope you guys like the mudflaps. I love them and the help out with dirt and even flinging rock on the high way at people behind me.

The roof rack is such a great buy. I used to take my wheels of each time and put my bike in the back. Got very dirty all the time.

hahaha dude thats exaclty what i did for my mud flaps! took caliper paint and painted in the letters, and i got the exact same mudflaps too, for my 02 SVT, that is how you do it! i matched mine with my calipers, i will change mine to yellow when i paint my calipers yellow from blue, to stand out a little more and have that black and yellow look.

how exaclty do you put a roof rack on? it looks like its just stuck on with double sided tape haha

Right now, we use some fork mounts in the bed of our F150. PITA all the way! Gotta lift 'em up, wheel off, lock down fork, lift 2nd, etc....

Easier process on the Focus, it would seem.

I've got the RA flaps on my Subaru, will definitely add some of those as well. The Focus and Titanium badge are already so gone from my mind, I will be disappointed when I get the car an they're still on! Oh well, each mod is a little bit of me going into the car. Light smoke of the tails, 35% tint all the way around, clear bra up front, can't wait!!!

If you look close there are clamp like things that go in the door frame. no tape glue or anything beside pressure on both sides. there is no metal on metal so it wont damage the paint either. Super easy to install and remove without even knowing they were there

about your Yakima roof rack installation

Just put the same roof rack on my Silver Titanium. I have one bike rack like yours plus two Thule kayak racks. Am wondering what your experience was like installing the Yakima. I found it to be quite time consuming; I was hoping that it wouldn't be a big deal to remove it and put it back on. It does seem to impact the gas mileage even without the boats or bikes. It's also pretty noisey....hardly worth opening the sunroof anymore.

But it was such a hassle to install it that I will probably leave up until winter returns. I followed Yakima's instructions exactly...therein lies the hassles. A lot of measuring, placing the towers, measuring, moving them again, measuring etc etc etc. Did you find it to be a pita or were you a bit more casual regarding the placement of the towers? This was the first time I used the Q Towers. The Focus replaces a Saab wagon which had roof rails.

$600 is pretty salty. I'm starting with the paint protection and tint, better to do it to a new clean car I think.

Nice looking ride, that's for sure!
