rear tires wore fast after svt suspension install

So all I did was the svt rear shocks and springs , all new parts on the rear of my 04 zx5. About 8k miles ago all 4 tires looked new (this is when I bought it) . 3k after svt suspension install one rear tire is nearly bald and the other 3/4 gone. Was this beacause no alignment (toe adjust) or tires with a 320 teadwear? Fronts still look great, being front wheel drive I would think the opposite. Any suggestions or do I just need a rear alignment??

Definitely get a alignment, and have you rotated the tires since 8k mi miles and SVT install? SVT's were known for having a lil' more negative camber in the rear causing abnormal wear on some.

Should rotate the tires every 3k-4k. Even though the svt springs are a mild drop it sounds like you should've got an alignment. Rear can only handle a little camber b4 it eats tires unlike the front which can handle more. Your toe could've been another factor as well. They may have both conspired to eat your tires even with the mild drop. Has nothing to do with tires treadwear rating. 320 shoulda netted you more tire life if your alignment was ok.

Proper alignment is critical on a Focus. Get a good four wheel alignment per specs I've recommended in hundreds of FF threads. You need to ask for specific specs or you won't get them. Any ol alignment is not good enough and in most cases will result in excessive tire wear.

I thought toe was the only adjustment that the rear has? I will research, Geezer, for the specs since they weren't posted. Thanks again guys!
