For Sale: 2005 ZX4 ST
2005 CD Silver Focus ZX4 ST w/99K miles, has documented, used, 05 ST motor and clutch (newly machined flywheel) w/71K miles. I am second owner, purchased with 14K mi., Texas car.
Factory ST equipment includes power moon roof, heated power mirrors, traction control, power windows and locks, and cruise control. Mods include full SVT interior including heated red leather seats (not hooked up, but wiring harness included), SVT dash w/Audiophile 6 CD changer w/steering wheel controls. SVT front disc brakes, braided ss brake lines front and rear, SVT spare tire, SVT suspension, front and rear, 22mm front anti-sway, 24mm rear anti- sway. SVT six spoke 17x7 rims w/4 new 215/45/17 BFG G-Force Sport tires. Ported throttle body, SilverStar Ultra headlight and fog light bulbs, SilverStar brake,turn and reverse bulbs, clear corner lenses. Alternator and clutch master cylinder replaced, routine service has always been done. Minor surface rust on rocker panels behind front wheels, deer hoof dent(2" diameter) on passenger side fender, paint intact. Car is quick, close to neutral(street)handling, 28-33mpg. $5500, or $5000/factory seats and door cards in very good condition. Car is located in DownEast Maine. When you say "documented, used, '05 ST motor" does that mean it's not the original engine? If so, why was it changed?

Driving back home from Boston late one night, the car suddenly started running very rough, slowed from 75 mph to no more than 45 mph, and the check engine light began flashing. The shop to which the car was towed, a Ford dealer, and the shop which ultimately replaced the motor, both indicated that the crankshaft pulley, which is not keyed to the crankshaft, slipped on the shaft. That caused the valves and the pistons to get too close together. Rather than replace or rebuild the old damaged head, it was much more cost effective to replace the entire motor, especially since it had 100K miles. I found an '05 ST motor with 70K miles close (relatively) by, drove down, picked it up, and had it installed. I have both the bill of sale for the motor, and a copy of their salvage title, from the salvage yard.
