Hold their ass to the fire and turn the heat up. Quality is way more than making a good product. Quality encompasses every aspect of an operation. Ford is showing too many cracks to represent that Quality is Job One. In my books quality is measured by the worst example. This is yet another example of why Ford still has a long road ahead. Ford represents that remote is standard in the Titanium. If this is an oversight, it is Ford's problem.

Hi Linchpin,

Yep, I'm definitely listening and help out whenever possible. If you have a specific concern, shoot me a PM and give me some details.

I also noticed "garage door transmitter" is listed as a standard feature on the Ford Canada site. So methinks it might not have just been a mistake on the Ford USA site.

http://www.ford.ca/app/en/fo/year/20...cle/focus.html

Then click Specs and Options and it's under Convenience.

But anyways, when you get the transmitter you ordered through the parts department, try just wiring it into the illuminated vanity mirror in the visor.

That way, it will work all the time despite whether or not the car is on. I know you are worried about someone breaking in to your house that way, but it's better than having a clip on type remote that someone can take out and use whenever they want!

The universal garage door remote is listed as a 'standard' feature on the 300A package, which is what is included in the 2013 Titanium, but is in fact NOT an option AT ALL - not even an accessory. I was told that this was removed in the 2013 version, but not on the website. There it's still listed as a standard feature on the 2013 FocusTi.

Yep, I saw it there too, so when I got my 13' Ti Hatch I thought I would get it too, but it wasn't there. I went to good ole Ebay and found an auto dimming mirror with homelink, so I killed 2 birds with one $75 dollar purchase since Ford saw fit to remove the auto dimming mirrors too. I'm still pissed the rain sensing wipers were deleted too. Now I wished I had bought a 2012..:-(

Hey folks,

Just to clarify, I checked out the 2013 Focus Ordering Guide and there is no longer a Universal Garage Door Opener option listed. If you'd like to see this on future models, you can always add this to the "Your Ideas" tab of http://social.ford.com.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Why was it removed in the first place?? What nickel and diming bean counter thought that made sense? Oh, probably the same one that said remove the rain sensing wipers too, and we'll keep the price point the same, and increase our profits per unit at the expense of the safety of our customers. But we'll ship all the safety features, auto-dimming rear view mirror, BLISS, Lane departure warning, DRLs, and headlight washers, to the European market. Yeah, Ford truly cares.

I'm sure there are other vehicles with all of these features and at the same price point available.

Really?? What vehicle? The 2012 Focus Titanium had them all but BLISS, but for 2103 they are sayonara. Please let me know, I only have 1500 on my Focus and still have 2 days left to return it and get my money back, and I'll go buy the vehicle you are referring to with all the goodies I'm missing. Hopefully it will have the same combined fuel economy of the focus too.

Just my point, NOBODY else can do it, why would you expect Ford to do it? Also, the 2012 Titanium had DRL's, lane departure warning and headlights washers? hmmm I missed those options when I ordered mine. Of course I could have imported one.
