My Cars Lighting Question Thread

Just bought my 12 S 5mt. I bought a 55w 6k H11 for my lows and 55w 6k H1 for highs from DDM Tuning. The stock H1's attached via clip. The new lights cannot use this clip so I used double sided tape for now. I don't use the brights often. Maybe someone can help me on this issue? I also bought the harness and resistors found in THIS HID THREAD. I'm still getting the error on start up but lights work fine.

I also added 13 smd led from eBay Kaizen. Those were a pita to install. They are not as bright as Vled's, but less money too. I had all Vleds in my previous 2 cars. LED everything.

Again I looked on eBay for tail light LED's I thought they would work without resistors Looky here!!. They light up fine but when brakes while lights are on are pressed it barely gets brighter. It looks like just my third brake light comes on. They are insanely bright and look awesome with the red anodized surround. On start up I get "tail lamp bulb error" I think that is what I said :) Something along those lines. Does anyone know If I need resistors for the tail lights to work properly?

Any help is much appreciated. Pictures soon.

Man it's quiet in here. So nobody added HID's to their high beams yet? Or changed tail lights to led's?
Here are some pics. First one is just regular lights.

Brights

My last car was a 07 maxima with projectors so this is much less light than I'm used to.

careful with 55 watt HID bulbs, don't want to melt the housing. Not gonna lie, I have the ddm 35 watt 6000K hid on a 04 Mustang GT and they are plenty bright. I would have to think you might blind some people with the brighter bulb. I'm leaving the focus lights stock this time around as the pattern is pretty good imo. I don't know much about the lighting, but I think other people were having problems with LEd swapps too. This thread would be better in the exterior and lighting chat part of the forum. Also, put your flame retardent jacket on becasue people are going to start going off about hid bulbs in stock housings.

I just changed all of my lights to lights from VLED's. I got these for the corner lights. I changed the front signals to "AMBER 7443 7.5 WATT HIGH POWER LED LIGHT BULBS 7440 | 1 PAIR" which are now sold out I guess since the link says so (hence no link). I did these for the rear turn signals. I also have the Red cree LED's for the tail lights. I installed these resistors on the front and rear turn signals and also on the rear tail light. I no longer get any bulb out warnings and I have 0 hyperflash. I can't take night pictures as everything is really bright. HID's don't look blue in person at all.
