Thoughts about this intake setup?

I found this setup on the internet and just wanted some opinions and if it sounds legit.

*ing spambots.

Anyways, many a people have done this mod and have loved it. My ex-roommate did it on his sedan and he had an extremely noticeable bump in performance and mileage.

Is the intake different on my 2010 SES or do I just need to do some more digging to find that intake tube?

That's the first mod I did to my car when I bought it. I only noticed a small gain if any. A few months later I took the top air box off as well and bought a spectre kit from autozone. I noticed even more gain after that.

I really want to get rid of the air filter box. Where could I find a intake tube that has a maf adapter built in?

Here's my setup. I used my stock maf tube. I did have to cut the top 2-3 inches off since its too big to fit a 3" rubber coupler over.

Intake is different. I am sure you can hack one, but unless it was done right, it would just look a bit fugly. If you want though, there are a few options for CAI and RAI.

My roommate probably had the giant bump in power because when we took out the old filter, the housing was cracked, and rocks, dirt, and I am sure a squirrel were in it... So his car just didn't breathe...

fswerks and cfm both sell versions of CAI that have a maf diameter that is the same as stock so their intakes will work with out a tune.

I did that, ran it for about 30k miles, no issues. Went back to stock though cause I didn't trust the crappy filter I had and don't have the money to play right now
