New catalytic converter? Please help!

I've had my SVT for five years now, and I've loved it every minute.. except these past 6 months. I've spent over 6k replacing parts, and just now the catalytic converter died on me. I have to pass emissions in a week. I ordered a cat from online (`$250) and even though I called and confirmed that it was for an SVT, the part they sent me didn't match. I live in Atlanta, no small city, and no dealership around here has a compatible part for less than $2k, and even that one was from Ford and they said they would need at least two weeks to custom build it and ship. Exploring options, I went to a Meineke and they said they can rebuild my cat for $650. I don't know if that is legit or safe. At this point, I cannot spend another 2k just for the cat, so I have three options:
1) Do that rebuild? Is it safe? Is it legit?
2) Find a compatible refurb or new cat. Problem is that now I'm wary of being sent the wrong part again. I would love directions to a definite absolute correct catalytic converter
3 Sell the car =(((

Please help me!

Welcome to the forum sorry to hear your having problems with your SVT. Check out CFM they have the stock cat and aftermarkets that WILL fit your car. Most of us get a ORP or a high flow cat since the stock replacement is ridiculously priced.

Here is the link to CFM right HERE

I already preselected the page with the cats on it for ya so you don't have to go searching through their web site for it.

Dude, you are a lifesaver (at least for the life of my car lol). I have been looking everywhere for almost a month. Question: One of these is all I need? No additional mods? Also, do they ever have those two cheaper ones in stock or do I need to just get that $549 one? Thank you again for your help!

Also, something just doesn't seem right to me about my own current cat. I may appear foolish one way or the other here, but I do not claim to be a mechanic. I do my own minor repairs, but I know very little about the engine or exhaust system. I cannot find the cat on my car right now, no matter how hard I look. Is it possible that the previous owner put on a straight pipe of some sort? I'm looking at the ford schematics for how my cat should look, and it does not match up with what I'm seeing: https://picasaweb.google.com/1165645...eat=directlink

There is NO CAT on your car , You have a Off Road Pipe on there now

C-F-M has there high flow CAT , that would be your best option

Question though: How did it pass emissions the past 5 years with no cat? I'm assuming an ecu Flash. So how can 1 redo the flash? Or should I just get an mil cheat like this.- http://focus.c-f-m.com/bbko2cheaterforfocus.aspx

Yup, I passed for years by using one of those. I highly recommend getting a tune for the ORP, though you may still fail. I am able to pass emissions now with out using the cheater, not to mention the benefits of the tune itself. Some people fail thoug. Also if you do decide to put a cat back on the car you can easily sell the ORP you have on there now to help recoup the cost. Ether way you go you have options. Cheapest being just use the O2 cheater and pass, second is getting a high flow cat or tune and pass, last stock replacement cat.

Personally if I were you I'd get the cheater, pass emissions and then save up for a tune.
