Cosworth Cams Install... Am I missing anything?
So, in two weeks I'm having a friend install my cosworth cams. They are YD0173 and YD0222 for those who are curious. My question is, what else should I buy to make this install easier? I'm going to purchase CFM's cam tool kit (http://focus.c-f-m.com/freeshippingc...atecfocus.aspx) and a new valve cover gasket. Cosworth says to replace the factory camshaft sprocket fastener with their friction washer but they're 25 bucks a piece... so do I really need to replace them? Thanks!!

You don't need to replace the cam cover gaskets= 1 outside & 2 inside. Thet are reuseable. Pull the plugs & an make sure not to miss any cam cover bolts. I didn't replace the cam bolts. You love them.

I've actually had them for about a month. Got a great deal on the Cossie's that I couldn't pass up. Just need to get CFM's cam kit and figure out who's going to install them

You are ^^^^ & miss all the fun? Fairly easy to install. Easier than you think. I forgot to put a pin= drill bit in cover to hold the tensoner= I ended having to pull the front cover off. A couple hrs longer to do.

Are you referring to the timing peg that would be used to keep the correct timing or something else??

Yeah, I forgot to do that & thaaannnnnggg, there goes the tensioner, when I undid the the cam spockets. So I had to pull the cover off. It wasn't that bad, just two additional hrs, I got it going no trouble. I've been in tougher jams= oh well. Cams are well worth it.
