Swapping in a Duratec 2.5L

Hey everyone, whats involved in swapping out a 2.0L duratec for a 2.5L 4cyl Duratec from say a 2010 fusion?

It looks like it should be doable but I can't find any good info on it.

Thanks..

Look through the Duratec Performance section for details, IIRC the automatic cam adjustment feature of the 2.5 is the sticking point.

2.5 with a 2.3 head/intake etc. is a combination I've seen recommended there.

Then the final step is a "Tune" for the PCM to make it all work right.

I am doing this setup here soon in my 07 sedan. I got good info from the guys at top speed. I hope to have it done by end of summer so just can tune the car for colder weather plus I will see the most horsepower gains at that time.

Here's a link to someone's thread who just did this:

that should help.

I probably will have in a week or so, had a bunch of other stuff to finish up and had to order in all the parts,
I'm taking lots of pictures and I will post all the info when I finish it.

The head is all rebuilt and ready to go on, the balance shafts removed and the delete kit installed, I have to do the transmission at the same time as I have an Mfactory LSD to go into it also.

that would be cool. A nice write up with pics. All the info I've come across is scattered threads with like 3 posts of nothing or ones that go on with nothing being said or conflicting information, pissing matches ,build them for 500 HP ..etc.

how about just a basic n/a swap with info in a normal car who has nothing to hide or will fall off the face of the planet?

Well that's all mine is going to be. A 2.5 with 2.3 head, cams header, intake, tune, and that's about it, somewhere between 190-210Hp I think but really anything is going to be better than 130 :)
I will list all the little pieces that I have to include also.

basic bolt on items don't disturb be as much as when people start talking about tossing in custom internals for what ever reason.

For me I'd love low and midrange torque. I'm not racing in any shape or form I don't need to shift at 5k and rev to 9k.

Good luck with the build, been keeping an eye on your FJ thread too.

twiggs - did you check the link I looked up earlier?

That was about as basic a swap as possible.
