01 ZX3 needs new engine.

I have an 01 ZX3 and I need to get a new engine. I have a cold air intake and sucked up water and put a hole in the block. I'm going to go to a junkyard to find an engine and was just wondering if any 00-04 2.0 zetec will work. My main concern is some stupid electrical connectors being different or something.

Also could I just cut my CAI at the top to make it a short ram or should i just buy a short ram?

All the Zetec 2000 - 2004 will work , make sure to use your crank sensor bracket that bolts on from the inside of the bellhousing , if yours is a ATX and you buy a 5sp engine and dont change this part the engine wont start

I am not talking about the sensor it self

Thanks for the tip. That's something I never would have thought about.

My car is a 5 speed and I got an automatic engine. Do I still need to replace that bracket?
