o2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction

I got a check engine light on my 2002 SVTF the other day and i put my diag computer on my car at work and got the code: P0141 o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction (bank 1, sensor 2). I called my local ford dealer ordered 02 sensor 2 which i belive is the cat monitor sensor from what the parts guy said. I replaced the sensor and cleared the code, two days went by no problems then yesterday the check engine light came back on with the same code P0141. Any suggestions? Has anyone had this problem?

it may be the heater circuit fuse. look up the fuse location in the manual and check it

i checked the fuse box in the engine bay, i checked the 10 amp heated oxygen sensor fuse and it was fine. This is quite annoying. I'm gonna put it on my lift today at work and take another look. If anyone else has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. thanks

o2 sensors tend to go out from what ive heard.

the front one is the only one that matters really.

I had the same P0141 code come up during an emissions test, a while back ago I had to unplug my IMRC box under the driver side fender. I was having some problems with with it and when I read up on some forums I guess alot of people where saying that my IMRC box was making noise because my DSI clip broke off or something, they said to just unplug it and the worst that would happen is my gas milage would slightly go bad. My question is am I getting this Code PO141 because my IMRC box is unpluged or is it just my O2 Bank 1 Sensor 2 that is bad and needs to be replaced?

Thanks, any help is greatly appriciated.

yea i heard the sensor 2 is a cat monitor, but i dont want to go throwing parts at the car when i really dont know if it is the first sensor or not. They are not cheap at $105 a piece. Thanks. I'll try pulling out the first one and inspecting it today.

it's your rear O2 sensor. It's fairly easy to change and like 50 bucks from advance auto parts. Sensor 2 is the rear, sensor 1 is the front, I went through this when i had mine go out.

Your sensor is bad. Unplugging the IMRC will cause the runners to stay open on the short side so the low end power will suck and gas milage will suffer cause of having to give it more gas to get going.

Just call Mike at Hillbish Ford (FF Sponsor) and order your 02 Sensors from him. They're 10% over cost. I just ordered both sensors for the price you paid for one.
