straight pipe/heat shield

so first question, could i get rid of the heat shield currently on my SVTF? because its loose and you can hear it rattle around 2000-3000rpms, its pretty loud too haha. the screws that were holding it on rusted throw the heat shield or w'e happened and how its just a big hole where the screws have gone through, what kind of side effects would i get from doing this? im thinking nothing really right? or am i wrong.

next question, im really considering getting rid of my reasonator on my car, where could i find a straight pipe for it? i wouldn't need to weld hopefully because it has a magnaflow catback on it, so it all comes apart pretty easily, just some screws, a link or something would be helpful, i'm assuming just any straight pipe thats the 2.25in or w'e the size of the pipe is and that its like however long its supposed to be right?

Which heat sheild. Ur fine to remove the header shield. The ones in the exhaust tunnel, I would hesitate.

Any exhaust shop can replace the resonator, although it may make it sounds raspy/ricey in my opinion.

the heat shield that is above my muffler, its just chillin on top of my muffler. a nice lil rattle, i feel like i could just remove it since the air from the car moving would move the heat, if its just sitting it would heat it up a lil i think. is there a way i could just wrap the heat shield around the muffler?

i'm thinking that for my straight pipe, idk if i want it to be welded in, for ease of removing, incase i feel like modding it out more

my heat shield rattles real loud too. i was pondering removing it but apparently its a hazard to take it off if you were to park on top of dry leaves, it could heat up and cause a fire. idk what the odds would be for that..

I think everyone has that stupid heat shield problem... makes you're car sound like a piece of crap. Just torque her back on if you can. Had mine noise free for years.

i tried siliconing it back up, i think its working? i haven't checked it out, but i haven't been hearing a rattle yet. i wish i could bolt it back, but the heat shield has rusted through where the bolts would be haha. hopefully i put enough silicon on there to hold it on. i'll probably check it out sometime this week

give it a few more miles after a long drive... silicone will heat up, harden and crack off that near the engine/header/hottest part of the exhaust, even the red high heat one! been there done that!
