Needle size and where to purchase?

I'm looking for WHITE needles for my SVT. I have come to the conclusion that I think I am going to go buy the white needles from a Ford Contour. Question is though...what make and model of car has the white needles in the SMALL size that the aux gauges have? Does anyone even make them? If not is there a way to die the orange out of the plastic somehow? Probably not for the latter. Thanks!

Get you a white paint pen from an art store. The needles are orange all the way thru so dying/bleaching won't work. Only thing is if your paint they may not let the light shine thru at night.

That's what I'm afraid of. I might just pick up an extra set of the medium needles and grind them down to the proper size and polish them up.

just a thought. small UV leds are now available. With a UV reactive white paint...
NOTE! Most UV leds freq is to high (~400nm vs the 'better' range of about 370nm). Might work if you wanted glowing white needles (then again, might not!).

if you paint it, you risk losing light.. Even with LEDs, you'll still get some color (depending on the led color) bouncing off the orange .. I had blue leds fixed into the cluster, all it did was darken the needles to a red... Best bet is find those Contour needles OR go to black cat custom and order the face with the LED kit (2000-2004).
I've been seriously considering getting my face gauge/LED kit from them.
BUT --- if you're able to find, please let me know... I've been searaching for those needles and would be satisfied with that alone.. :)

I'm gonna go to my local picknpull next weekend. They said I COULD buy just the needles so there is a variety of cars out there with white. If you'd like me to pick you up a set I'd get them for shipping plus whatever the hell they charge me if you let me know before I go out there. I could get an assortment of types but I think I'm going to try the contour ones.

Also I have an SVT so I have an electroluminescent panel behind the gauges anyways. here is my current setup. It will be a little different when done since the last car is totaled now the yellow looks a bit out of place.
