My intro/Build thread

Hi gang I've been a lurker for awhile now and figured I'd join and introduce myself. I'm 22 years old and live in Brampton Ontario Canada. I drive a 5 door 5 speed manual Black focus.

I've done a few mods to my focus and they are:

Steeda 25MM rear sway bar
American Racing Estrella Rims
AWR Rear Motor mount 70 Durometer
Rear Lunch Box Delete
Custom Civic Intake LoL Version

I know some of you may be curious on the intake, so let me explain. I've tried various intake methods on my focus:

Intake box lid removed: I found this to be the easiest, but it was overly loud and durring those hot summer days the car would bog

Griffin Mod/New Mission mod (Whatever its called sorry): This is a pretty darn good alternative to buying a +300 dollar intake which is pretty insane. The only different thing I did from the stantard mod was using the stock resonator hole as my tube hole or whatever. I didn't to completely kill my intake box. I found this intake setup to be decent but found I couldn't hear the car nearly as much as I'd hoped too.

Custom Civic Intake (current): I decided the other day to go out and attempt to make an intake for this car. I went on kijiji and searched for intakes. Of course not wanting to spend lots of money I filtered the search and bought the first one for 20 bucks. I then cut the intake down to size so it would fit the car.

I ended up buying another filter for it, since the one supplied was alittle dated and old. I then Plasti-dipped the tube black. While it was drying I removed the stock intake (very easy) and then unscrewed the stock maf of the intake. By the time i finished all this the intake was ready to go on.

I then reattached all the need material etc...The intake is the perfect level loud for me, and I'll review it in a week or two after its been on long enough in terms of feel and issues etc.

Cheers Thanks for reading :D

Welcome to the board!

Nice work on the custom intake. At the end of the day, it's just a tube with a filter... so you can get creative. Glad you were able to make the perfect one for you.

Lol yeah, when in doubt just zip it out! As for the RMM its fine, if my mom nor girlfriend dont notice the vibes then you know it isn't bad. It's very light vibrations, I think the driver will notice them the most but it ain't that bad. It got rid of my clunk between first and second, you should see how stupid the oem mount is.
