Alright. So I just finished installing the voltage gauge into my headliner area. I ended up just using the single pod that came with the gauge from Glowshift. It has a metal bracket with it as well.

First I used about 3" of matte black vinyl on the inside of the windshield. This both allowed me to stick the gauge and removed the dot matrix problem with my tint visor.

I used this to stick it to the vinyl on the windshield. They are for picture frames and they are rated at almost 15lbs which is more than enough. They are "Command Strips". It's like plastic Velcro but stronger.

I wired the power thru the headlight switch using this pin diagram. (The rectangle one on the right)

Here is the finished product installed. I think it turned out great. When I get more money I am planning on getting a water temp and oil pressure gauge to put up there as well.

Still not sold on it, maybe if the bracket was hidden, but you can't hide the bracket since it's stuck to your windshield. But you got a phone stuck to your windshield, so I guess they match. Still, after seeing the placement, I think it's a cool idea and I'm glad it works for ya!

yeah, it might look "cleaner" if the bracket was hidden behind/under (err over actually) the headliner. would be hard to do.
still, the idea is unique. never seen it in a focus.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the feedback.

I think I am gonna paint the bracket flat black to match the vinyl. I think it will hide it a little bit better. Honestly it's not super noticeable to begin with. I am really glad it worked because like you said I don't think I've ever seen it in a focus(makes me feel special lol). Most roll with the pillar or vent mounts.

Pyro, that's for my GPS which I am gonna ditch the suction mount and run something off the a pillar for a cleaner outside appearance.

They vinyl is great with the combo of 5% visor. From the front of the car you any see the gauge at all which also adds to the clean look.

Since you are wanting to keep your pillar clean of gauges, why add a GPS there? You could get one of these to keep it clean:

I have looked into those. Its a great idea, Just really expensive. It's not that I don't like anything in the pillar I just wanted something different. The GPS would be about where it is except I would have a arm mount to the lowest part of the pillar instead of the ugly looking suction cup.

Small update.

Yesterday I fixed my shifter side slop. Had to just rotate the nylon square bushing. 85% better than before. Also I removed the counter weight. It feels decent but I am not sure if I will keep it that way.

Also while doing that I noticed a small crack in the vac hose going to the intake. I can here a high pitched sound when I accelerate. So I am gonna have to replace that.

Had some fun with plastidip today.

I used charcoal grey to "black out" the SVT logo on the hatch. I love how it looks.

I also made some eyelids with black plastidip. They turned out ok. When I get MACH's I am gonna use vinyl which will look much better.

Just put the Synchromax in the focus. Feels pretty smooth. I am gonna put the shifter weight back on tomorrow. I gave it a try for a week or so and it feels a little to "notchy".

My only complaint is that stuff smells like complete crap!
