Question Clearance

If I'm assuming right (bad idea) Anything with .381 lift or less won't need any relief grinding on the head? I've got a set of cams in my closet that I'd love to have under the hood and upgrade springs and adjustable gears when I have more cash. It would be great if I could spend a few hours getting these in and out of my closet without the added expense and headache of tearing the head off of my daily driver.

Any thoughts?

You can assume that. But some that are close you have to just I stall them and see. The .381 is a good starting point, but these are castings. Each casting may have a few thousandths ( or more?) of variation on the non machined surfaces. Its cheaper to cast the part and machine down your tolerances then to have those tolerances built into the initial cast.
