You really have to worry about the long flat sufaces for the most part. 100-120 sqft should be fine(mind you this is about 1 layer, you do not need to do the "A" pillars at all, but, the inside firewall is gonna need to be done). You can use some CCF(closed cell foam)on top of the deadener to really shut down the road noise as well.

just some great stuff expanding foam from walmart works great for filling in those small gaps. the gaps in braces that go across the roof and floor is a good place to put it along with the the hatch or trunk lid.
when putting it in the trunk/hatch lid it is best to make sure that the wires for the license plate light are pulled as far out as possible from the whole that the lens attaches to on the outside of the car or else the wires will get stuck in the foam and you wont be able to change the bulbs without digging the wires out. oh and i used cardboard and tape to black of the holes i didn't want the foam dripping back out of.
the foam is expanding foam is more of an audio thing though. if you sound deaden the majority of the car filling in the gaps wont make a good difference for just road noise.

I did not do my roof or the firewall. It is going to be done this Spring. But, I will do CCF through out as well.

Babies love the sound of a car when it is driving.

After mine was born and would be crying a lot, I'd put her in my old Bug and she'd be asleep by the time I'd get down the block. It worked everytime.

so true, just crack a window very slightly to allow for more road noise after you sound deaden the car.
