lights dimming on and off after changing starter

has anyone ever had the problem of lights dimming on and off after changing a stater on their car? my volts on the battery when not started read 11.37 and when the car is started it was reading 13.87. i dont know what it is and any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

Double check all your connections, especially the grounds, and have your battery tested. Fully charged battery should be reading just over 12 Volts.

I was a Shade Tree Mechanic, but had to cut down the Shade Tree to make room for the garage. Does this make me a Mechanic now?

10 year old battery! I would go buy a lottery ticket.

i got the car from my dad last year and i havent had any problems with it. he used to work at ford dealers thru out new england
