For Sale: 2003 ZTS fix up/parts car
2003 Centennial Edition Focus for sale in Farmington, MI. I am selling this car for 900 dollars as is. This would be a good parts car or fixer upper.
'03 zetec with 19Xk miles with a manual transmission. The only performance parts are SVT intake and snorkel, SVT cat-back, and SVT suspension. This is a DD and most of the miles are highway as I used to work a long distance from my house. Motor has zero issues. I use full synthetic Amsoil and change the oil and filter every 10k. Plugs and wires were just done last year, and coilpack was replaced. Alternator was replaced with a rebuilt one last month. Still under warranty. SVT suspension was installed last year. Has less than 10k miles on it. Clutch was replaced last year. I have 15 inch steelies with bald winter tires. Interior: Heated leather seats, moon roof, heated mirrors, power windows and locks. Interior has normal wear and tear on a 190k mile car except carpeting is heavily stained on drivers side due to a leaking clutch slave cylinder that was replaced two years ago. I am selling this car so cheap because there are multiple cosmetic condition issues, including a cracked windshield, a rusted trunklid and paint that is peeling on the bottom. There is surface rust only on the body from the peeled paint. I can provide an exhaustive list of everything wrong with the car to any interested parties. Bluebook value for this car is $2.9k. Someone could easily put less than $1.5k into it to make it nice. I don't have the time or energy to fix it up myself. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *EDIT![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Decided to provide a complete list of what's wrong with the car here anyway: K let me start by saying that with the exception of the windshield needing to be replaced, this car is perfectly drivable as-is. There are no major mechanical problems. Here's a list of what's wrong. Exterior: Front bumper is cracked in several places. Driver's side foglight is busted. Paint is peeling around the bottom Looks like there were some adhesion issues with the flat black paintjob, but they didn't show up until 3 years after it was painted and the shop wouldn't fix it. There is surface rust where the paint has peeled but it is cosmetic. Rear decklid is rusted from the inside out due to a leak I could never track down. The trunk still opens with automatic latch release, but not with key. The SVT exhaust needs to be rewelded. The shop that put it in used a mild steel pipe to extend it out four inches so it would fit a sedan. The pipe rotted out. The rest of the exhaust is fine. I have a temporary fix on it now with clamps and a flexible muffler pipe but it's going to have to be redone. Headlights are hazed over and need to be polished. They also could use some new bulbs and have to be adjusted. The halos no longer work because I disconnected them when I resealed them and never bothered to hook them back up. Turns work fine in them. There is also zero issues with them leaking. I had to cut the the driver's side mirror off after a car wash tore the mirror off and I couldnt get it unplugged. It needs a new wiring harness for the power and heat to function (I never cared enough to fix it). I have since replaced the mirror but haven't bothered to wire it up. Engine: Thermostat housing has a small leak. I have a new one already that I'll give you, just haven't taken the time to put it in. Needs a new fuel filter, i've got one of thse too that I'll give you. Interior: The plastic trim around the moon roof switch is gone. The driver's side carpeting is stained from when I had a clutch slave cylinder leak (the slave cylinder was replaced by my mechanic two years ago and is fine now). Interior has normal wear and tear on a 190k mile car. Blower motor for a/c and heat is on the outs. New one can be had for $80. Key fob unlocks the door fine but something is screwy with the door latch. I may take a look at it this weekend. You can't open the door with the key. That's about it. Other than the paint and the windshield it's a bunch of niggling crap. If I hadn't gotten a steal on a '06 with low miles my plans were to just remove the rust on this car and take it down to MAACO for a $300 special and fix the rest of this stuff over time. I will post up pics later.

Bummer. I'd rather have it go to a forum member but may try to sell it off on Craig list if I don't get any interest.

The sooner the better.
Have a lot of interest off cl. Of course I'd rather it go to a forum member. Pm me and let me know what you're thinking. We may be able to work something out.
