Not so sure this isn't BS but I stumbled across this and thought I would share. |

SCT originally evolved from the Superchips company (SCT= Superchips Custom Tuning). I do not know how closely related they are now.
It would be awesome if true. Ill check into it...

I looked at their site, and I do not see our cars listed. They are looking for a 2013 ST to test on.
I emailed them to find out what is going on.

Apparently I broke the link. I was searching for 2012 Focus performance suspension when I found it. Thanks for the detective work Matt.

Anybody have any proven results thwese do anything. In my past experiences on NA cars I've seen next to nothing and on turbo cars they can raise boost pressure and change the fuel map a little but it can be done better and much more efficiently through a boost controller and a remap of the ECU.
You probably get a little perceived umph from better throttle response but you can't make more horses without both air and fuel and I don't see how a chip can do that.

On a NA car the only thing that can be done is to mess with the timing, you can add timing until the car stops making power but this also means using 93 octane fuel.
There is only so much power to be had from a 4 cyl 2.0L engine.

I have an SCT X-Cal2 with 3 custom tunes for my Ranger--it made a big improvement with the 4.0/auto combo. Your greatest gains are always going to be with the higher octain tunes. The biggest advantage is being able to mess around with the trans settings. Hopefully, when (not if) SCT comes out with a tuner for the Mk3's, it will have some of the same options for the trans and engine tuning. The real key for any programmer is having somebody develop and load some "custom" tunes, not just the stock tunes.

I think people want this too if they are doing intake/exhaust mods in order to tune the fuel/air ratio. Right? Can SCT tuners do that for other cars?
