2003 SVT turns over but wont start

Hello,

I have a 2003 focus svt that turns over but will not start.

I had it in the shop last week and they told me that all 4 plugs were dripping with fuel when they removed them. They said they took them out for a couple hours to air dry and put them back in and it started fine.

I talked to the mechanic directly and he just said its pry a sensor but he wasnt for sure. BTW this was a ford dealership.

I drove the car home and it ran fine. But now i went to drive it yesterday and now it wont start again.

I noticed that it had died on me briefly when coming to a stop but then would start up right away again. This only happend twice though over the last few weeks leading up to it not starting.

Another thing to mention is that i do park it on an incline if that makes any difference.

Any ideas what might cause this?

Or does anyone know what sensor it might be?

Very hard to say , not enough info , do you have a xcal to datalog with or barrow , only thing I can think of that would do this would be the mass air and TPS but they both would have to be bad at the same time

Injector drivers in the ECU could do this but every time I have seen a Inj driver go out they stayed bad

If you kept trying to start it over and over then the fuel in there could of come from that , the plug in on the coil is known to go bad and the crank trigger sensor rub the end off over time , these can be checked by the eye

What did Ford say ?

Over the weekend i decided to try starting it after holding the gas peddel to the floor for a sec. I was informed that this might help if the motor is flooded.

The motor instantly made a loud pop sound when i turned the key.
I tried starting it again normally and it went back to the same thing turning over but not starting.

Anyways i was just in it again and tried starting it normal for the hell of it and it made the loud pop sound (like all my neighbors heard it). I got out to look under the hood and my air intake? the black plastic piece that connects my ram air to my motor, was half way off my motor!

Backfire from starting when flooded blew the intake off from your description, hopefully nothing broken - but you'll need to reinstall, pull plugs and dry things out B4 another starting attempt.

Foot to the floor clears a flooded engine, even with electronic systems 9it's designed to work that way) BUT you need to do it BEFORE there's a LOT of unburned fuel in there!

Luck!

I am putting the intake back together with a little help from my uncle and his friend with the code reader.

The code it reported was..

P0303 cylinder 3 misfire (stored)
and cylinder 2 misfire (pending)
