Methinks a photo-heavy update is in order soon.

In other news... I won't be going to FR2013... I'm bailing because my car just isn't where I want it to be. So my plan as of now is to ensure that Anya is ready for FocusFest. Besides, I'd honestly rather go to FocusFest with my local group than go somewhat alone to FR2013.

I mean, I know a lot of people that will be at FR2013.... but only online whereas I know the members of my local group in real life.

Anyway... here's a peliminary to-do list to FocusFest:
- SVT Rear Brake swap
- Put the Steeda sway-bar back on
- Finish all the rust proofing on the underside
- ditch the DIY catback exahust and get a real one/ make a legit one.
- replace the carpet or fix the tear
- tidy up engine bay
- dust off secret euro sexy-ness parts and install
- figure out what to do with roof panel
- either get new wheels or get the Konigs refinished
- clean air filter
- work my a$$ off to do everything listed above (need to find a job first....)

Been working pretty hard on the car this past week as I've finally got my motivation back!!

So far, I've painted and cleaned nearly all of the brake parts for my SVT brake conversion except for the passenger rear while I wait for the $$ to get mopre paint.

As it stands, all I need to start putting the SVT Brakes on are 2005 Front Knuckles and brake pads all around.

I've got about a week and 5 days before FocusFest so I should have all the time I need (seeing as nobody on the face of the planet wants to hire me... )

I painted the front and rear SVT calipers with a two tone scheme to try and switch things up and make them look more like professionally painted performance brakes. I went with Red VHT Caliper paint for the actual caliper itself and Rustoleum High Temp Satin Black for the Carriage(the thing that slides with the pads).

Overall I spent roughly 6 Hours De-greasing/cleaning the Front Calipers with a wire brush and this cheap industrial de-greaser called "Purple-Power" from AutoZone. I did the same Paint scheme to the rear brakes and refinished the rotor shields in Satin Black along with the hub/spindle assembly.

The rear rotors were pretty rusty but I'm stuck with using them until I work up some more money. I de-greased/ wire brushed the middle of the rotors on both sides and painted them Satin Black to keep them looking pretty. I figured that I'd save my masking tape seeing as once they're on the car driving would take care of the excess over-spray and leftover rust.

And now.... Pictures!!!
(sorry for the lame quality, been too lazy to use my Canon lol)

Front SVT Calipers, Pre-paint

Front SVT Calipers, Post-paint

Russel "Speed-Bleeders"

Right Rear Brake, Pre-Paint

Right Rear Brake Shield, Pre- Paint

Right Rear Parts, Post-paint

That's about all I've got for now, Hopefully I'll get the time to throw up another update with the rest of the work before FocusFest.

Quick Update:

If you're a friend on FB, then you probably saw the photos of how the new front knuckles popped out of the ball joints. (if not, im gonna make a photo update later anyway so just wait.)

Anyway... Fixed the ball joint/knuckle issue yesterday.

It ended up being a diameter difference between the 2005 and stock 2000 ball joint shafts. My 2000 ball joints were just too small so me and dad spend nearly the entire day grinding the rivets away on the LCAs so we could go cheap and just swap to 05' ball joints.

All and all we spent over seven hours of work getting cooked on the driveway in 90*+ humid weather. (I nearly had a heat stroke according to my mom...)

I absolutely hated every single minute of it but damn am I glad I got it done!!

I also decided to hold off on the SVT rear brakes till after FocusFest so I don't have to worry about running outta time or having a issue pop up last minute.

Dropped Anya off at Town and Country Ford to figure out the A/C issues before summer starts.

Before I left I looked at a beautiful Silver 2014 ST that I saw on the way in and immediately like a piranha to a piece of meat a sales rep swooped in and started buttering me up. Right off the bat I told him I wasn't in the market, just looking at the ST and he said he'd go grab the key so I could look at it.

When he came back he told me he saw Anya when I pulled in and said he never saw a SVT sedan before and asked if it was just the cosmetics or a full drive train swap as well and even asked how well the ST wing fit on the curvy Mk1 trunk. I was like "Woah, this dude knows Foci!?!?"

So yeah, he's got me buttered up. And says that he used to be into the Focus game from 02'-07' before he moved to Mustangs.

Well, we talked for probably an hour and the rep knew what he was talking bout and had all the specs and information memorized, had an answer for every question I threw at him without pulling out the brochure or anything.

Eventually he coaxed me inside and sat me down, and said he could give me 5000 down if I traded Anya in and an additional 2000 cashback. With that and my dad's X-Plan the total ended up around $23,4XX. As much as I wanted to buy it I told him that I'm just not in the position to buy a new car and left it at that.

I've seen STs at dealerships before probably a dozen times but this was the first one to really catch my eye even though I know I'm not in any position to buy a car right now, especially a new ST.

On the way back home I felt bad that I actually considered trading Anya in on that new ST for a minute there.

Good news everyone! Turbo time is creeping closer with every day. I've got roughly 4/5 weeks left of classes and I'm seriously ready to get back into the swing of things.

For the past 3 or so years around this time I start throwing around the "T" word and hint at boost and other tantalizing things... Which usually never come to fruition.

Well... ALL THAT IS GOING TO CHAMGE THIS YEAR!

I've now got the $ set aside to back my big mouth up and get up off my @ss!

Where do I start?

I'm going with a OEM turbo for reliability (as this is my first time doing anything related to turbo.) Which is going to be a Ford Probe turbo I still need to pick up from my buddy DiscipleRocks out on Evansville.

As for the parts, heres what I have in-hand so far:

-JGS tools SPI manifold
-Burton Power adjustable can-gear
-$120 eBay Intercooler kit w/ tubing. (Not a permanent thing, need it for the pipes and silicone connectors mainly)
-AEM wideband o2 kit
-Diablo MAFia
-Burton Power mild lift "Turbo" Can
-Thunderbird 2.3 dual valve springs

That's about all I have so far, as I'm still doing research on the rest of the parts I'm going to need.

I hope to get back into the forums more over the next few weeks so expect to see me poking around and asking questions!!
:D :D :D :D
