Send me a PM, I have some info for you.

They don't need to share, they both live in Cleveland, and one has a car with OEM Nav already...... good luck to both of you and let us know if it works!

Thanks! Will do.

Nothing secretive, necessarily. Just thinking of ways to get the module initialized.

Nav as a post purchase option-please vote on this idea

To all focusfanatics interested inactivating the onboard NAV, please vote on the idea at:

http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/te...rchase-option/

Let's make sure Ford is aware there is a demand for this! Currently the social site indicates low popularity for the idea, let's get that popularity bar fully green!

Maybe then our wish will be granted.

It's sad when the customers have to petition to allow Ford to sell something that has a massive profit margin on and doesn't really involve much work on Ford's end..

No secret, we just don't want to get any one at the stealership in trouble, so we will not say publicly who is doing it and where. Basically the APIM needs replaced in my car and it has nav, so the tech is going to stick hotleads unit in my car and provision it, then yank it back out. He then will replace mine under warranty. Then we will both have nav.

Looking forward to hearing some positive results!

On a side note, how does it feel to get a rush like you're stealing something that you paid $1000 for?

Wow, hope it goes well and works as planned. That is way cool of you helping a fellow forum member out like that man! That is what is great about this place.

It's not stealing, hotleadsingerguy already paid 1025 or so in parts plus god knows how much for labor. This is just proof of concept to dispel Ford's it can't be done BS. We are all willing to pony up to enable it legitimately.
