Nothing will be cheap. You could get a used 65mm TB but that will be close to if not over $100. You could get more power to the ground with poly motor mounts for a couple of hundred. A tune for $400. You could get the best header setup for the Zetec which is the SVT, there is a complete kit in the BST right now for $450. You could go SC, but that will be $1,500. Or turbo for 5G's. Sorry, no cheap ways to get any HP gains.

Intake and Cat Back you say.... any thing else you really do will require a tune to work properly... So I would save up for that.

You could find a used suspension that better than stock (like some one selling a used SVT suspension set up) or Used larger sway-bars front and rear to improve the handling for a few hundred bucks.

A little extreme and would require O2 eliminator would be a gut of your stock CAT if you have no problems removing the emissions aspect of your car (research very heavily on your states inspection if they have any. no responsibility will be held if problems arise and if a new cat is needed you could be hundred to replace not including the possible ticket... not to mention it would be obnoxiously loud). Don't know how much that would gain you with a stock manifold...

Weight reduction will also make the car feel faster.

usually you can specify USPS shipping and have them identify the cost of the part as under $100 and as a gift.... that usually takes care of customs and the shipping with USPS is cheaper. Unless you can find someone selling in Canada your kind of stuck that way. Are you close to the border? some people on the forum that are on the U.S. side are willing to have stuff shipped to them and then you can just cross over and pick it up also.

take a look into the forum a little before posting this, not ranting on you but it's been asked about 100x lol. anyway on a 2000 zx3 if you have stock intake still you can always get a drop in K&N filter doesn't add alot of HP but adds MPG.

basic rule of thumb for a focus.... its a 4cyl. nothing will give it the power you are looking for unless..

A.) you build a powerful N/A engine
B.) you charge it (supercharger, turbocharger, or nitrous)
c.) refer to A or B

but seriously the cheapest performance mods are the suspension, air intake, and exhaust... I've done my exhaust (400$) (200$ for used BORLA performance and (200$ for long tube headers and flexpipe)(2.5" exhaust too)

intake was about 180$ (K&N cold air intake off ebay, Gives me about 7 more MPG not joking either)

Exhaust upgrade is about 2-3HP addition
intake is about maybe 1 or 2 if you're lucky..

it sucks but I suggest saving up money and getting a cheap turbocharger kit from fswerks for about 3.5K I know it looks like alot of money, but I could've got it if I wouldn't have bought all the "little" "non-expensive" mods... whch add up to half the cost of a turbo kit.. so I advise you to check on a turbo kit...

good luck! and welcome to the FF forums!!
