Well just exactly, I've had lots of people who think the Focus is an awful looking car. But if every car looked the same, there'd be no point in choice right? haha

You have no idea, even the Challengers have some real issues with the interior, and the two I test drove had sloppy driveshaft "thunks" going on every time I'd accelerate. Ford makes great cars, I just wish their service was a lot better. But apparently Dodge is even worse from what I have seen.

Although the Mustangs haven't been without their issues here and there. Generally their build quality is better. I've gotten to a point in my Focus that when I hear a rattle, I look for the change or something in the side pockets, because it is never the car that is causing it. hehe. Even after 3 years of rough local roads here in Greenville.

My fusion has no rattles at all. I expected the firm ride from the coils to knock some loose, but it's handled it great. Good quality.

The 12 Focus has tons of rattles. Doors, dash, headliner, etc. I have to set aside some time soon to follow the DIY repair advice of others and try to fix a couple. I've never had this many in a new car. My biggest disappointment after the DCT. Even more funny since the Ford marketing materials say the interior was specifically engineered to be rattle free. Sometimes I wonder if auto engineers are politicians.

The tight low ratio steering is great on the Focus til you have to do a 180 and it's got a bigger turning radius than my '99 4Runner.

This.

My 2000 could turn on a dime. Its not bad on my car, but could be better. Although it handles so nice on winding roads.

Dart review on The Truth About Cars today. Michael Karesh is one of the best and most thorough reviewers out there. He also runs TrueDelta.com, which is a website about reliability.

The few sentances in the piece are:

"If the Ford Focus didnít exist, Iíd rate the Dart more highly. But the Focus does exist."
