My first retrofit w/ pics
So for a while now I've hated the output of my headlights. I thought about doing the whole HID in the stock housing thing, but saw how everyone bashes that and how my light output will be worse and blah blah blah. So I did my research and decided that if I'm gonna go HID, I might as well go all the way and do it right. So I got a spare set of headlights and transformed them from this...
![]() to something a million times better and another reason to make my car as unique as possible. this... ![]() I haven't had the pleasure of driving at night yet, but here's a shot of the output of the 5000K bulbs from about 10ft away. ![]() I wanted to do the demon eye setup, but again, after some research, I opted not to and just painted the shields inside the projector red. shields out: ![]() projector with shields in: ![]() So at least now, when there's light shining into the projectors, they'll light up red and still be legal, keep the cops off my back, and I won't feel like I wasted money on something I can only enjoy while I'm parked... at night. If anyone is looking into doing a retrofit, the Morimoto Mini H1 projectors are really easy kit to install. After getting the headlights open, it only took trimming the bulb holder ring to fit an adapter piece and opening up the slit where the bulb shield sits to allow the wires for the shield to run through(see pic) ![]() and trimming the rubber cover over the headlight housing to fit the rubber grommet that the new wiring runs through ![]() ![]() The projector just bolts into the place where the headlight bulb originally sits ![]() ![]() After that, if you're like me and want as much of a factory look as possible, you'll buy a shroud that's too big for the reflector bowl, but fills it in nicely, you'll have to trim the shroud to fit. Total cost of parts and materials was a little over $300 One last thing... pic of them fired up on the car...

I was dropping off the screwdriver I accidentally pilfered during the hood install, and Andre gave me a prevue. I want to alert every 06-07 owner how well these Morimoto Mini H1 projectors fit the stock reflectors. Great job! Guess I am going to have to invent an excuse to come see them in person.
