Wax stain of trim, how to remove?
I just bought a new (used) ride and you can tell the previous owner or the dealership was not careful with the wax job. The trim and plastics have white stains from the excess wax, I have tried washing a few times but I can't get rid of the wax. Does anyone know of a method or product that can undue the damage?

You have a few options:
1. Pink school eraser. -messy residue, tedious 2. Trim dressing -often doesn't last very long 3. Peanut butter -really messy, but I've heard it does work 4. Peanut oil -less messy, but still icky 5. Forever Black -trim dye, permanent, $$$ |

i'd go with a bucket of hot water and a scratch free sponge. the magic erasers work too.

Thanks for the suggestions, I was planning on using this http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/...er+8+ounces.do but could not find at any stores and I don't feel like waiting for an online order.

A tooth brush works really well too.

Try the peanut butter. Just go buy some cheap store branded stuff, massage it in good, a tooth brush may help, and let it sit for a bit, then wipe it off. I was amazed at how well it works. The key is the "let it sit part" as it is not instantaneous. It takes the peanut oil a few minutes to react with the dried wax. This is what I do anytime I screw up and get wax on plastic trim.

I have not tried a pink eraser, but have used a white eraser with great success!! Also, rubbing alcohol works over several uses.

I had a similar problem with my old car. I found that spraying a vinegar solution and letting it sit for a few mins before rinsing it off works.
