I'm very surprised the Regal's transmission didn't sling parts all over the road. I think he got lucky, or shored it up somehow. HILARIOUS to see a Regal kicking that much ass. Love a good sleeper.

the buick regal in that video has the same engine and trans that my 1993 bonneville SSEi has. the transmission will take about 430whp before you start having problems. i think the car has a stock 240 and its very easy to bump to over 300. 1.6 rollers, smaller snout pulley, intake, exhaust cutout, and a tune and you are looking at almost 400whp. and the grandma car only weighs 3600lbs. my SSEi is 300lbs lighter. omfg i just realized the freaking grocery getter only outweighs my focus by 500lbs.

Great video. not surprised by those sleepers. well, maybe the first.

LOL, that lumina. they were decent with the 5 spd manual. those iroc-z were slow turds, as far as i'm conceredned. most 5.0's back then were faster. Heck, I beat a 85 z-28 with my 81 pontiac phoenix 4cy 4spd. I miss that iron duke.

Not too many people understood how fast the SHO was. I had a buddie was a SHO junkie. he never beat my 5.0, but it was a good race every time.

I worked in a buick shop for a while, and man, I always wanted-still do-a regal GS. those 3.8 will take abuse. and yes, they will beat and surprise most peolpe. That and they ride and drive like a dream, it is a buick. wish that motor combo was in my Rendezvous, I'd never get out. those GS's are still expensive used. Kid has a awsome grandpa.

The look on people's faces was better when they were getting whooped by my friend's turboed Honda Hell-ement and it was good at the strip and not just from a roll. It could just edge out a Viper in the 1/4 and was just about as quick as my AWD DSM.

that's what people get for assuming they know and never look under a hood first.
