Will the seats break in at all?

The St3 package seats are too tight for me in the thighs. My back fits fine but I feel like I'm sitting on the bolsters.

The St1 base seats are fine. And the dealer is bringing in a st2 to see if those work.

I really want the mft and nav. But I don't think the st2 seats will be much better.

Just curious if the seats break in at all.

Yeah You can do that and get a couple of car payments as well.

Other than the leather on the ST3 seats and the power seat track with the heated seat pads the ST2 Recaros are pretty much identical to the ST3 full leather seats.

Yes they break in a bit, but if it's too tight you could always swap for ST1 or Titanium seats, but the Titanium passenger seat won't work due to differences in the airbag wiring v.s. the ST, so you'd have to take an ST1 seat and recover it in leather and add the heater pads to an ST3 car.

I love my Recaros. They feel way better than the slop-o-matic seats in my winter beater.

Most people aren't making that much money off of the swap on the other ST forums. You'd be lucky to get a little bit on top of the seats though even though the ST2 spec recaros cost $2995 from Ford Racing

I'd swap even up for st1 seats. I don't really care about them since they don't fit me well. I just want to make sure that someone would actually want to swap me their st1 seats for my st2.

I just want the upgraded stereo.

The st2 seats are all non-powr right?

I'm also not worried about leather. As long as they have the st logo so they're correct for the car.

I had a Toyota that had thigh squeezing seat bolstering
My wife absolutely hated them
I found them foreign at first but they were not uncomfortable
I would give them a try for a week or two before considering a swap out
As stated you likely would have no issue finding some one that would deal a trade

There are more people who want the Recaros but bought the lower level car because they didn't want the stereo or whatever, so I don't think you'll have an issue to find some one to trade them. Yes the ST1 and ST2 seats are both manual track seats.

The seat bottom can be taken off the frame and 'carved' if you want.
I took the seat bottom off my 1999 Ford Contour SVT and scooped out the back bottom to be more bucket'y, drilled holes near the front to soften the front edge, and added bolstering to the sides of the bottom. Worked great and lasted the 13 years i owned the car.
You could take the seat cover off and carve up the foam in it. An electric drill can cut holes to 'soften an area. Drilling holes into the foam around the bolster would certainly soften the area.
The seat bottom is kind of tough to get back on properly and all, but worth the attempt to carve up the foam..

i was thinking about that today. because i really like the look of the recaro seats. i'll have to take a look at them when i get the car. i'm up for trying that.

i have a guy willing to trade plus 250 bucks for his ST1 seats... i'll have to decide what i want to do.
