Couldn't you just take a LED type fixture mounted to mirror with 3M tape and ttap it to the map light?

Yeah, put it on the bottom of the plastic of the door. I would just be worried about car washes and shorts.

yeah thats what ive been thinking....i dont see car washes being an issue as the weatherstriping for the door should help protect it....only thing im worried about is clearance with the door shutting...

I can't seem to get to the center map lights the headliner is in the way and I almost go to the a pillar yet my connector was too small

Sounds like whoever installed the remote start cut a wire but didn't reconnect something correctly.Your interior lights should come on or go off when the car is locked/unlocked.
