Unless it's modded, all I can see this do is create turbo lag...

I do see a cone filter, I wonder if they maybe have the boost turned up a ton, so bleeding some off is actually necessary.

its already supposed to be at 17psi. That will make a pretty good whistle already. According to their website it looks like its actually recirculating in addition to the turbos internal wastegate.

Stock at 17psi? It would make a good whistle, but to make that whistle it has to be venting off boost. On a stock car, that will only create lag.

Meh, I've heard better BOV's..

That exhaust sounds dirty, though.

yes, stock 17 psi. The same engine in the Escape has no noticeable lag. I think I could justify a little lag for an unexpected psssh.

I purchased the Pumaspeed silicone hose set with the take off on the hose from intercooler to manifold for the dump valve.
I also purchased the cap for the factory bypass, and of course the valve.
My order got held up by customs in Memphis TN for almost a week. Basically, I had fax a form sent to me and pay an extra $50 to a FedEx "customs agent" who represented me to get the package.
I put the car on jack stands and removed the lower engine cover. I also took off the front passenger wheel. From there, you can access the three bolts (I believe they were allen) holding the factory recirc valve on the turbo housing with a 1' ratchet extension. Remove the vaccum hose and factory valve, and replaced it with the blanking plate. I used blue thread locker on the bolts.
Next I carefully removed the hoses (there are 3 of them clamped together) going from the intercooler to the intake manifold and replaced it with the 1 peice Pumaspeed silicone hose. I installed the dump valve on the hose. I then used a vaccum coupling and vaccum hose I purchased from Auto Zone (I forgot the size, but I took a small piece with me...1/4 I think) and ran the vaccum from the recirc location to the dump valve and neatly zip tied it in the engine bay. The vaccum hose that comes in the kit is not nearly enough.
Ok...sounds great! A real head turner. I did not get nor does this car require a tune to convert to a BOV with atmospheric vent.
There are no performance gains, but no loss either. There is no turbo lag.
If anybody else is interested and has any questions or needs any help, let me know.
I'll post pics/video as soon as I figure out how (I'm new).

actually stock boost on the ST motor is different. It is 19 and has the overboost that goes up to 21 at full throttle
