Just daydreaming..

I really like the DURATEC in my '12 Focus. I'm quite impressed with the peppiness and the engine note as well as the fuel economy. I've been thinking a lot lately.. if they had a performance version of this engine in the style of a 3.0L inline-6 (come on just tack on 2 more cylinders at the end!) that thing would be perfect. I know there are V6 variants of this engine like the Mustang V6, but I think an inline 6 would be better. I'm a fan of the ST, but I'd be choosing the 3.0 over the turbo 4 and I'd go with an all-motor build on it.

I hope some Ford tuner is out there listening. Give me a 3.0 I6 Focus. My last car was a Audi S4 with a twin turbocharged V6, but I want 6 cylinders of Duratec awesomeness in a line with no forced induction!

Why not just try to shoehorn the 3.0L v-6 out of the last gen fusions and escapes. They were rated at 230 hp. If the 3.0 fits then the 3.5L out of the fusion sport will fit too and it has 265 hp and the 3.7L out of the 13 MKZ and edge sport has 305 hp. Whatever engine you try, use the trans that was in the car it came from, the dry clutch DCT will not handle the power of a v-6

Why not find a way to shoehorn the 351 V8 out of the GT500 in there? I mean, if you're going to daydream...

The Shelby GT500 uses the 5.4L engine (albeit supercharged and 4 valve heads, LOL), but, that is a 329, not a 351 (which would be a 5.8L for you metric folks..)

Oh good, should be much easier to shoehorn it in there then. Do me a favor, though, take a look at this window sticker:

What's it say about engine size? Five point what?

Well...they didn't JUST change it, the 2013 has already been replaced by the 2014 model. As for the point, I suppose mine was that one should make an effort to use the most up-to-date information.
