I'm with them it looks like a S or SE. It may be a SOHC or split port. Just to be on the safe side stay away from the motor. If it's a DOHC go for it, it looks clean.

thanks everyone, what do you mean by this? I'm new to this car, is there something I need to watch out for with the motor? It does not have pwr windows or door locks btw.

I can't find an s style for this year. I see LX, SE, and ZTS. So if its SE would that mean it has a 2.3L in it? Is this a good engine? Thanks again

Its either an lx or an se

It *may* have a 2.3 pzev if its an se and native to California.

See if you can get the vin. You can call a dealership parts dept with a vin and they can answer questions about the kind of options it has.

I'd stay away from the sohc engine too.

LX or SE, 01-04, since it's a 2003 it MIGHT have a 2.3 in it which would be awesome. LOL funny that the letters fell off.

It does appear the front fender has a massive dent in it though. Unless that's just the picture. I think it IS just the picture, the other lines are straight like on the pinstripe.
