Plexi glass ?

Dose anyone know if plexi glass is heat resistant. My rai cover looks stupid all cut up to make it fit so was try a plexiglass cover and see how it would look.

not really. it melts at 160'c ish but its pretty easy to mold at around 110-130'C

so don't use it anywheres near exhaust or anything hot but most other places should be okay to use it.

Ye thats what was worried about but now i know guese ill get sheet metal cut then.

why did you have to cut yours? I didn't have to cut mine on my 05 and I have the steeda also.

When i went to bolt together none of the holes lined up and to make em line up i had to pull bottom sheild and push cover right up next to batter box. With it bolted like this my battery cable and battery box were gettin all torn up. Thats why i decided to cut it to make it fit.

When you say "Plexiglas" you are just referring to clear plastic panels, not specifically the acrylic plexiglass brand I hope.

Plexiglass is brittle, and only good to about 170* F
Lexan is tough, light, and impact resistant., but only good to 180* F

McMaster-Carr website gives the material properties for most popular plastics, softening temperature and such.
