"LUNCHBOX" Delete

There are so many threads/post about the so called luch box delete I have to clarify. On the earlier foci we called the small box like resonator in the rear the lunchbox. The general consensus is removing it it sounds good but probably doesn't increase power (although ford gave it 3 hp from the factory on coupes with manual trans IIRC). But now, are we still calling that 26" long baffled muffler after a 90 degree turn in the back of the 2012 a lunch box? And although people are always quick to point out "theres now power increase" or words to that effect it would seem to me that elimination of that large (26" long) baffled (restrictive) muffler after a 90 degree bend must be good for some HP.

Dyno proven no power increase from removing it.

Tuning shouldn't require a lot with these engines as the huego wide band o2s hold the afr dang near perfect. Also with gdi you can't just swap injectors and fuel rails. There is no rail, it is just stainless lines off the hfp to the injectors. We have no idea what these injectors are capable of, for all we know the injectors and the huego's may be able to compensate for 20 psi of boost with no major mods. If they wont, all that needs to be done is build an adapter plate to bolt between the head and intake that can house four auxiliary injectors and a way to turn the on and control them under boost. This way mpg and drivability will stay identical to a stock engine as long as it isn under boost. Just my .02

Well it seems the injectors and huego's should be able to handle minimal boost, we predict about 8-12psi. If this is the case, our Focus' should support a turbo with amazing results!! :D

Also, we are ordering the Cosworth Intake Manifold for the 2.0L Euro Fiesta, there are rumors that it is a direct bolt-on for our Duratecs!!

We could possibly squeeze more that that on the flex fuel cars due to e85 have such a high octane rating, so that means more timing and more boost :)
