I went from daily driving a 2011 Mustang GT to the Focus ... no regrets since I still have the Mustang and am back to having two reliable cars at home again.

Ditto, I did the same thing. The fuel savings alone pays a large portion of the new, yet smaller, car note. It's a win/win situation.

Had this.....

Got rid of the GT500 to buy this....

2008 Acura MDX. I barely got 20 mpgs highway in that thing. Miss the awd though...

I traded up from an '04 Cobra vert. I took a position that increased my commute and requires travel, so the gas bill was eating me alive.

In comparison, the engine may be weak, but everything else about the Focus is leaps and bounds better than the Mustang.

Last month I traded in my 2006 Mustang GT. I really loved and miss that car, but I need to be more practical with what I need out of a daily driver. The Stang is not made to be driven durring a Connecticut winter. It's also nice not having to hit the gas pump near as much.

I came from daily driving a 2007 Ford Edge - Loved the Edge (so much that I've owned two of them in the last 5 years). Sweet 3.5L V6 with 265HP and plenty of torque... The Edge was very roomy, comfortable and smooth. I was able to do everything with it, so needless to say that I miss it; but just like most of you, I couldn't handle spending all that money on gas... NY fuel prices are brutal, so it was time for me to trade down and get my hands on this 5-speed bad boy!

I downgraded from a 2000 Celica GT-S. I consider this a downgrade as what I paid for the car 10 years ago would at least be several thousand dollars more than what I paid in 2012 for the Focus.

This pic is from shortly before I sold it a few weeks ago. Stylistically, the Celica has actually aged pretty well. I loved this car, but the Focus is much more useable (especially with a family now) and handles nearly as well. Plus the Celica was starting to have a number of issues that weren't worth fixing. To be honest, I miss it much less than I thought I would.

I 'traded down' from this.

Because realistically speaking, the only thing the Focus doesn't have is cooled seats; which are just about the greatest thing ever fitted to a car with perforated leather.

It was an adjustment, that was for sure. I was so used to the smooth delivery of power and the soft ride and its general presence. It wasn't massive, but it drove like it. Had no pretensions of being light on its feet or even remotely capable of going around a corner without shenanigans; it was just fun to drive.

And, HID headlights. Which now that I think about I actually do miss since I nighttime drive a lot and they were so much better and brighter.

I traded down from my 2008 GTI with the Autobahn package. Sorta. I totaled the car and instead of replacing that car, I chose the Focus.

I traded down from an 05 Infiniti FX35 AWD with Sports package and 20" wheels. Loved the beast, but the MPG was too depressing...
