Who Traded Down?

Not really sure if I downgraded. Traded a 2011 Kia Optima EX for it. Leather, multi-media, Sirius, Bluetooth, smart key, push-button start, 200hp D.I. I4. So it was larger and more powerful, but didn't have some of the toys the Focus has. The Focus sure handles better though, and my butt dyno tells me it could beat the Optima in a 0-60 sprint.

I come from a McLaren MP4-12C. Although it was a real chick magnet and a lot of fun to drive, it was expensive to maintain and way too thirsty for my budget.



Ok, not really. I was just dreaming again.

Actually, I traded in an 05 Nissan Frontier crew cab 4x4. As blah as the interior was, it was an awesome truck that got me from point A to B in even the worst snow and ice without a problem. Being an avid do-it-yourselfer (MacGyver's got nothing on me), I used the truck for various home improvement and other miscellaneous projects.

The truck averaged 16 MPG with that V6 though and that made it too expensive as a DD; $70 a week to fill up. Now I just rent or borrow a truck when I need one and enjoy 32+ MPG while filling up once a week for $35.

07 Audi A6 4.2. I still miss the power and the room, but when I drive almost 3000 miles a month, I needed the fuel economy(22 w/ Premium in the A6, 36 in the Focus). The Focus at least was able to give me some fun corners and tech that was almost if not better in some ways then Audi was able to do. Oh and the fact that Audi charged $125 just to have your car in the shop.... yah... ha

Never thought I would EVER get rid of my '07 Mustang...but realistically I didn't drive it. Only had 15K miles on it, my truck was at the dealership for repair and decided to check out the Focus', I was impressed with the conveniences my Mustang didn't have and it was fully loaded for its year model but that only included AC, PW, CC, and CD player. Everything with my new Focus works awesome, including the DCT and MFT...and loving the fuel mileage.

08 Cadillac CTS....just didn't feel right putting big miles on that car (trip to school was making an impact on its kbb value). I miss the power and the sophisticated feel of that car but my Focus gets great gas mileage, is very nimble and alot of fun, even at low speeds.

Traded a 2009 Ford Edge SEL for a Yellow Blaze SE with sport and winter. Liked it so much I went and got another. This time a Sterling Gray SEL with NAV and leather. The gas savings alone is paying for the first one.

I was drivin' one of these babies to work everyday and my commute is 314 miles, one way. So as you can imagine my gas bills were startin' to get me down. So I bought my Focus and lived happily ever after.

I went from a Mitsubishi Outlander LS AWD 2007 V6 with 220hp. I miss the all wheel drive, the space, the height, the power, the towing capacity and the overall ''will tackle anything'' feeling it gave me, especially during our northern winters.

I dont miss the 12L/100km, the morons at the only Mitsubishi dealership near my home and the speed at witch the under carriage rusted. Still, I miss the Outie 'cause my Focus is being a PITA since march 2012. But that's another topic.

04 Srt4 neon to my 2012 focus. Tranny started messing up on me like all dodges do so instead of fixing it. I traded it in for $8k. Lol
