what's the difference? (boost)
alright, some of you may think this is a noob question, but i've really been thinking about it.

Procharger is a brand name of a supercharger.
Superchargers run off your belt system and use a pully to spin a compressor to force air into your motor. Turbo uses exhaust gases to spin a turbine that spins a compressor and to force air into motor.

Supercharger: Produces boost by use of the engine's power. Usually belt-driven, they sit atop the intake and force air into the engine.
Turbocharger: Bolted to the exhaust manifold, produces boost by use of the engine's exhaust pressure. Basically a two-sided fan, one side is spun from exhaust pressure, the other side draws in air and forces it into the intake. Some call it 'free power', but it's not totally free. The more air you cram into an engine, the more fuel it requires to maintain the proper air/fuel ratio. Pro Charger: SORT OF like a belt-driven turbocharger, but it's really a different kind of supercharger. It's added on to the front of the engine and uses power from the engine (via belt) to turn a centrifugal 'pump' to force air into the engine. |

Vortec is another company that makes the centrifugal superchargers. Only 3 Supercharger kits I know of for the focus are Jackson Racing, Powerworks (no longer makes anything new), and procharger. Not sure if they are as much work to install but still require a good amount of mechanical knowledge

It was all a DREAM!

Also power difference... You can do sometimes twice if not more the HP on a turbo then you can on a supercharger.. at least for the focus..
