Mirror Turn Signal Swap

The only way I could get my meat fingers in there was to pull at an angle. Once I pulled it out far enough to disconnect the element wires I was able to see the clips on one corner. I kept pulling in that direction until they released and the rest came loose easily.

Pro-tip: Use one hand to leverage the mirror out with your fingers with the other hand covering the mirror and housing in case it pops quickly. Gravity and mirrors don't mix.

dyn085, do you have any issues with fast flash or bulb out with these? I'm looking to do these, the taillights and brake lights and front corner lights in LEDs. I've read that you need resistors for the tail, brake & corner lights, but I assume you don't for the mirror turn signals and puddle lights?

I have no issues, but I am only running a 168 in the turns and a 194R in the puddles. It shouldn't be an issue swapping to LED's due to the bulbs size in the circuit. I will be replacing both sets soon if you want to wait it out just to be sure.

The 15 SMD's came in today - much better brighter light especially in the hatch. They were a tight fit and probably the max length for the puddles.

Pictures? Noticed tonight the puddle lights are really dim for my taste. If its nicely noticeable I'd do the swap. Same for the hatch light.

Also, an LED strip where the turn signal light is would be really cool I think!

No worries. The puddle lamps actually look whiter and, I assume, brighter than the old night light looking lights.

Maybe I've missed something (or it's burnt out) but our hatch has two lights? I could have sworn it was just one..

Its kinda funny, I thought the same thing and had to go double check. There are indeed two lights, they are just that crappy.
