It's gotta be a computer thing and I say that because almost immediately after the temp needle hits the halfway point on the gauge it stops every single time. If your car does that all the time even when the car warms up that can't be normal. The problem I found is the dealer sees so few 5 speeds they didn't know if it was normal or not. They didn't even have another one on the lot to compare too.

This has me wondering. Does my rev hang issue have something to do with open/closed loop? Below is a part of a data log I did for Tom, its a 1>2 shift and a 3>4 shift (in purple), letting both drop to idle. You can see how the revs flatten out before dropping to idle. The orange graph is open loop status, either 0 or 1... I wonder if there is a relation?? This portion of the data log is at the end of a 25 minute drive, so the car is at NOT. Maybe Tom can chime in after seeing this.

One of them are here in Cleveland. Went to a LARGE dealer with ~60 Focuses...Focusi....Foci? and had 2 sticks. One with hubcaps and no frills, and mine, with alloys (since swapped out to 17" Ford sports package rims) and a sunroof. Wish it had the winter package too.....
