Agreed. A friend has the 2012 Impreza wagon. The tails are so similar, except Focus has, in my opinion, better looking taillights.

Not only chinese automakers, Hyundai used to copy as well, until they got the Audi designers.

True. In China, a company copied the Toyota Corolla pretty much piece-for-piece. And it's not something they're ashamed of - in fact, they're proud of it. That's just how business is conducted on that side of the globe.

Well, some say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery but in cases like this I tend to believe it is simply a lack of talent and ability (and class).

this segment pretty much sums up wtf and ignore that the owner of the video mirrored it (keeping in the theme of changing something slightly so it isn't stealing lol)

but this is the best part of the above segment! i always thought this was one of the funniest (or sadest) clips ever. but i do agree with the "imitation is the most sincere form of flattery":)

Actually you guys have it all wrong. The 'crab hand' design taillights that the Sentra has, comes from the 7th gen Nissan Maxima (2009-Present), which look similar to the 2012 Focus. The 2013 Nissan Altima has almost the same design....which of course comes from its bigger brother, the Maxima. So in a way, Ford got the design from Nissan, not Nissan from Ford. I just want to clear things up a bit.

Nah, I don't think so. Yes the crab hand motife on the rear quarter panel is similar, but it's the overall taillight length and proportions which the Sentra copies from the Focus. The Maxima's and new Altima's taillights are much shorter and therefore no one would ever mistake them for the Focus. The Sentra design team are the clear copycats here.
