That's an interesting idea. I have an Audison Bit Ten on order, but maybe I should explore deck options. I seem to remember Kenwood having one that was COMPLETELY behind the scenes with 100% factory controls.

No kit yet avbl to put aftermarket receiver in a C-Max, but... You're right, that may have to happen down the road. With the iPod plugged into the amp, ie factory EQ and time alignment not in effect, the sound was much better -- a wide-open soundstage instead if the closed-in factory sound, and flat frequency response rather than the boomy factory tune. Now with the bit Ten, I'm running everything thru the factory HU again, and the soundstage is again cramped, the midbass is again absurdly overboosted, etc. The Bit Ten is supposed to remove factory EQ but honestly I think all it does is remove factory bass rolloff at high volumes I will never visit. It does however come with a great 31 band EQ, which I have used to greatly improve the sound.

DoogieB,
I assume you've done something by now but it looks like ebay item number 330934213153 is exactly what you're looking for; it says it fits the 2012 & 2013 Focus.

I've ordered one.

I haven't taken my stereo out yet but here are some pics of the harness that arrived today. The 8 speaker wires are the only wires that are not pass-through. The yellow and the black wire are tapped with a lead coming off them.

I ordered the harness from CellularStore.com early Saturday morning and it was delivered with my mail on Wednesday.

Package:

Harness:

Plug to go into the stock stereo:

Plug for the OEM harness to plug into.

Yeah, that looks like a good cable!

Looks like I'll have another project to work on next month. Thanks for posting that link and I know I'm not the only person looking for that cable.

Well, that didn't take long. Did the project described in the first post of this thread and the parrot radio harness was perfect! Very easy to do all soldering on the workbench with the added bonus that the parrot speaker wire colors matched the harness for the KTP-445U. Dead simple.

With a complete harness ready-to-go it's probably only a 15 min install time for the amp. Well worth the $45 for the additional harness.

Whenever I receive my back speakers and get them installed I'll do a small writeup on the KTP-445U/speaker installation. It's a nice upgrade.

Thanks again, wylee!

Glad it to hear it is as easy as it seemed it should be.

Was there room behind the radio to mount the KTP-445?

I have all my parts, I just need to find a day with a few free hours to install everything.

So could I get that harness to use to run to my line out converter instead of having to splice into my oem wiring?

Believe it or not, there's a large cavity below the radio. Plenty of room for the amp and wiring harness.
