I think if enough people complain Ford will recognize there is an issue. Or using Thomas to escalate it or just trying different dealers until you find one that will believe you, that's what I'm thinking anyway.
Definitely. Unfortunately Velde Ford here in Vero will most likely say it's normal and tell me to leave. They've done that to me several times regarding the transmission, even though two of the 3 times I brought it in there were TSBs or the FSA out for it...

Ugh.

Understood; please let us all know how it goes north of the border.

Thomas
How it is going north of the border ? Not very well. All those issues I have with my car, according to the dealer, are comming right from my over productive imagination and all the dealer is ''willing'' to do is reflash MFT another time. That, if it really works this time, will only take care of some of the irritants I have with the car. But lets not highjack this thread, I suggest you give a call to Alexander so you'll understand better what is my experience with Ford north of the border so far.

My two cents about the rear view mirror; I have noticed that in the 2013 FF catalogue they have removed the automatic wipers AND the automatic rearview mirror. My guess is that they were a source of disatisfaction from a large part of the 2012 clientele and Ford could not (or wanted not) find an economically viable/profitable solutions. So their way of fixing the issue; Remove the troublesome options from the catalogue. Problem solved.

As others have expressed, I suspect the dealer inspection may not net any worthwhile results. Just add me to the list of others that have compla...err..noted an issue.

Additionally, I was trying not to speak on the DCT just yet. Figured I would give it some time to re-adapt and "learn". However, thus far it has been bad. I had a certain amount of shuddering I was dealing with before the update. I was really used to it though. After this update, it has been worse with the addition of some added rattles just under 2k rpm. Rattle is the best word I can think of to describe it. It coexists with the shudder.

As I have said though, I am giving it time to break in again. We'll see what happens.

I wonder what's different about the replacement mirrors?

Probably nothing. That is why I am reluctant to take mine in. Mine currently takes a few days to between lifts, replacement who knows?

This is more of a question for the dealer. Our certified techs will test it thoroughly. I escalated this for you; your CSM has a follow-up scheduled for today.

I'm documenting and reporting all feedback appropriately.

I think the rear-view mirror is a common safety feature; but I see your point. Let's congratulate the Focus on many victories with this: http://social.ford.com/grab-a-badge/open+track/.

Have you spoken to our Ford In-Vehicle Technology team about your MFT issues: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/member.php?u=87765? Some options may be left out or moved to other packages due to dealer and customer feedback.

You can reach out to me if you plan to visit a dealer any time soon. How many miles have you put on it since the update?

It doesn't hurt to see if anything can be done. Please PM me your VIN, mileage, phone number, and dealer info; I'll forward these details to your regional Customer Service Manager.

Thomas

I have no idea - but the new one's still in the same position that I put it in when I left the dealer two weeks ago. No way that would've been the case with the old one.

The dealer techs told me there are no adjustments on the mirrors, so I suspect it was some small manufacturing defect that was screwed up just enough to result in the slow drooping.

I too noticed the Droopy Mirror Syndrome on the SE model I had for a month. Now that I have an SEL trim, It no longer droops.
Both mirrors were the standard kind (no auto-dim).

I also have a droopy mirror and thought it might just be the way I was sitting from day to day. Glad you posted this breakspirit.
