2012 mk3 front cup holders

Hey all. I got a mk3 1 year old and I was wondering if there is a center insert to the cupholders or inserts for each cupholder. Can someone take a pic of theirs with all parts intact? The reason I ask is my brother in law picked up a 2013 escape and has the same front cupholder but it has a center separator that is removable. It seems to hold the cups better than mine .

Thanks

There isn't an insert for the cupholders. The newer models had foam tabs in there that many members opted to remove. You can probably do a search of the Mk3 and Mk3 interior area for the threads that are currently started on them as most have pictures that show what I'm talking about.

There are two different cupholder setups depending on configuration. S and most if not all SE models have this setup

SEL and Titanium Models have this setup.

As far as I'm aware, neither came with any kind of inserts. You can't really compare the two cars either. Yes, they are Fords, and yes they ride on the same platform, but they are different vehicles.

I have the cup holder setup in the 2nd picture above and the little foam inserts that Duane mentioned will tear right through foam soda cups. I haven't removed mine but I don't use the cup holder for sodas anymore as a rule.

Ah. Thanks for the info so far. I also have the second setup as I have an SEL. I have little rubber tabs around the holders. I was thinking of more of a plastic block that slides in the middle of the 2 holders to make them separate.

I hate the cup holders in my SEL (side by side) drinks are always flipping around and spilling about everywhere, would love to see an aftermarket insert that will actually hold my drinks.

I just put a couple of napkins around the rubber tabs whenever I have a styrofoam cup and problem solved, cup slides out without issues.

I have an SE with appearance package and it has the setup that the SEL/Titanium has. I usually only have a bottle of water in the passenger side and my phone in the driver side. Makes it easier to shift that way too. I wont put any plastic or foam cups because of the tabs.

That's exactly what I was talking about. I'm going to have to swipe my brother in laws to see if it will fit. If so I'm gonna order one.
