Security alarm going off

The security alarm has gone off three times the last two weeks without any reason. My question is will it run the battery down if I'm not there in a reasonable amount of time to shut it off?

I don't know the answer to your question, but is it possible that the panic button on your remote is being pressed unintentionally?

I think they're set to stop going off after a few minutes.

Strange that you mention this... mine randomly went off yesterday. My keys were sitting on my desk so I know the panic button didn't get hit. I can see my car right out of my office window... no clue.

I would take in to the dealer but the closest one is fifty miles away and after they can't duplicate the problem I would get a pat on my head and be sent on my way.

Ditto. I've been experiencing this problem on a regular basis. It has nothing to do with the panic button being pressed. The car alarm randomly goes off for no apparent reason. In addition to this, I use my remote start feature daily to get the car warmed up before driving it. Imagine my surprise when I went out to my garage one morning at 5AM to drive to work and the alarm began going off...honking horn & flashing lights as I opened the trunk hatch. That's a sure fire way to piss off the neighborhood.

I'm not sure if this is related, but on my SE sedan, if I open the trunk via the keyfob without first unlocking the doors, my alarm will start going off.
